Black Duck Appoints Dom Glavach as Chief Information Cybersecurity Officer

– Rohan Pius

Cybersecurity leader Dom Glavach joins Black Duck as CISO to strengthen enterprise security posture amid escalating software supply-chain threats and AI-driven risks.

Black Duck, an application security leader, has appointed Dom Glavach as its new Chief Information Security Officer to provide additional strategic leadership and to enhance overall enterprise security as OEMs are experiencing both a growing number of security threats related to their software supply chains and AI-driven security risks. Glavach has been tasked with implementing Black Duck's global security strategy, which includes overseeing enterprise security operations, governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks, as well as product security initiatives for the expansion of Black Duck's portfolio for securing modern software development environments.

The announcement of Glavach's appointment comes at a time when the security landscape is becoming increasingly unstable due to repeated breaches of software supply chains, open source compromises, and incidents of dependency abuses that are adversely affecting the security of essential tools for developers and the cloud infrastructure they use to build their software. Recent events involving the wrongful use of credentials and compromised build pipelines demonstrate how quickly software vulnerabilities can "cascade" through both enterprise infrastructure and industries generally.

The appointment of Glavach as CISO indicates that organizations have begun to recognize that application and supply chain security is a strategic priority for their boards rather than simply being a technical function further down in the enterprise. With over twenty years of expertise in Cyber Security, Glavach has held executive leadership positions in a variety of sectors, such as Software as a Service (SaaS) Companies experiencing Rapid Growth; Regulated Industries; and National Defense Environments.

He was charged with developing, implementing and managing the overall Security Governance framework, Risk Management framework and Compliance Framework of the Company’s Global Operations (12 Countries) by integrating Security Operations with Vulnerability Management programs and processes.

Business Honor is of the view that Dom Glavach's appointment as CISO represents a strategic change in Black Duck's approach to enterprise cybersecurity and software supply chain risk management.
