CSIRO launches Australia-Singapore Venture Exchange Program to boost agrifood innovation and collaboration
Australia's national science agency, CSIRO, launched the second round of its Australia-Singapore Venture Exchange Program (VEP), Future Food 2.0. Future Food 2.0 is an initiative supporting agrifood businesses in Australia. The three-month program is aimed at enabling collaboration between Australian and Singaporean startups as well as small and medium-sized enterprises to help accelerate the agrifood industry.
The VEP will get the participants more access to cutting-edge food innovation ecosystems in both countries to participate in research collaborations, premium industry events, venture building, business acceleration, and access to mentoring. This round of the Future Food program mainly focuses on stimulating the growth of the food and future protein industries, enhancement of sustainability, and promoting advances in food nutrition. Participants will also be producing new knowledge and technology that can lead to potential commercial projects in launching new companies or new innovation solutions for sectors such as agriculture and food.
The focus on building scientific capabilities in Australia and Singapore will be key to the program's success. The program aims to create new research collaborations and knowledge transfers while focusing on major national challenges in the food sector. It will also provide entrepreneurs with a chance to interact with specialists in marketing, legal services, and commercialization.
During the program, participants will also participate in the AgriFutures evokeAG event in Australia and the FHA-Food & Beverage show in Singapore. The events provide chances for networking with peers, stakeholders, and specialists. In this regard, it is through this way that the VEP would eventually support agrifood industry expansion in the two countries by creating a link between the ecosystems of Australia and Singapore.
