Audi and SAIC’s upcoming electric vehicle promises advanced smart technology and a high-end experience
Audi and SAIC’s groundbreaking collaboration is gearing up to make waves in the automotive world. Fermín Soneira, CEO of the Audi-SAIC Cooperation Project, has announced that the highly anticipated electric concept car developed through their joint effort will be revealed in November. The mass-produced version is expected to hit the market in the latter half of 2025, with production slated to take place at the SAIC-Volkswagen Anting plant in Shanghai.
Following the debut of the initial model, the companies plan to introduce an SUV and a large sedan within 18 months, bringing the total to three new models. While it’s unclear whether these vehicles will feature Audi’s iconic four-ring logo or a new branding approach, rumors suggest a possible shift away from the traditional Audi emblem.
Soneira emphasized China’s strategic importance for this project, noting that it is Audi’s largest and most crucial overseas market. The focus on younger Chinese consumers, who average around 35 years old and have a strong interest in smart technologies, drives the high-end, intelligent design of these new models. Unlike IM Motors’ offerings, Audi-SAIC’s vehicles will feature unique high-end intelligence, with CATL supplying the batteries and Momenta providing the intelligent driving solutions.
As Audi and SAIC prepare to unveil their innovative electric car, the industry eagerly awaits a glimpse of the future of smart, luxury automotive technology.
