Wipro is making a powerful comeback, announcing plans to hire 10,000 to 12,000 employees for the financial year 2025
Wipro, one of the leading IT services giants, is gearing up for a substantial hiring spree, aiming to bring 10,000 to 12,000 new employees on board in FY25. This announcement follows a period of consecutive headcount decline over the past two fiscal years.
In the first quarter ending June 30, 2024, Wipro made a strong start by onboarding over 3,000 freshers, resulting in a net addition of 337 employees. This marked the end of a six-quarter streak of headcount reductions, showcasing Wipro’s renewed vigor in workforce expansion.
Looking ahead, Wipro is set to maintain this hiring momentum into the next fiscal year (FY26) with similar hiring targets. Chief HR Officer Saurabh Govil, during the company's Q1 earnings conference on July 19, emphasized that Wipro is back in the hiring market after a year-long hiatus.
Govil also highlighted the company's commitment to completing the onboarding of its backlog of offers made in FY25. "We will also strengthen our relationships and partnerships with various institutes, facilitating both on-campus and off-campus hiring this year. We plan to hire a similar number next year, building our workforce in anticipation of our growth resurgence. Our utilization rate has peaked, making it the optimal time to bolster our supply chain," Govil explained.
This strategic hiring initiative underscores Wipro’s determination to fortify its capabilities and readiness for future growth, marking a pivotal moment in the company's resurgence.
