Highlighting STEM Careers and Advanced Tech with Hands-On Experiences
Shreveport, LA – The U.S. Army is bringing a splash of high-tech innovation to Geek’d Con, set to take place at the Convention Center from August 16-18. Attendees will have a rare opportunity to explore the Army’s latest advancements in nanotechnology and robotics, thanks to the efforts of the 705th Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Company and local Army recruiters.
During the event, the Captain Shreve Ballroom will transform into a hub of futuristic technology. On Friday, August 16, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, August 17, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, August 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors can witness firsthand the sophisticated systems that the Army employs in its operations. These displays will offer a glimpse into the cutting-edge tools and techniques that are shaping the future of defense and technology.
Highlighting the event will be U.S. Army Soldiers 1st Lt. Chase Lewis, Sgt. Chanse Raymod, and Sgt. William Pellicier, who bring a wealth of experience from their deployments in special operations. These Soldiers will engage with the public and media, sharing insights into their roles and the technology they work with.

Chase Lewis. “We aim to inspire the next generation by showcasing some of the Army’s most advanced technology. The setting of a convention like Geek’d Con is ideal for this purpose.”
