New Acquisition Aims to Enhance Integration and Optimization for Commercial and Industrial Energy Solutions
Generac Power Systems, the Wisconsin-based leader in backup power and energy storage solutions, has announced its acquisition of Ageto, a top provider of microgrid controllers. This strategic move is set to bolster Generac’s offerings in managing and optimizing energy resources across commercial and industrial sectors.
Since 2021, Generac has been integrating Ageto’s cutting-edge microgrid controllers into its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and generator sets. This acquisition formalizes and expands their collaboration, enhancing Generac's ability to deliver sophisticated energy management solutions.
Ageto's microgrid controllers are designed to seamlessly integrate and optimize various energy components—including conventional resources, renewable energy sources, and electric vehicle (EV) chargers—through a single, user-friendly interface. This integration promises to streamline system management and enhance the efficiency of energy operations at commercial and industrial sites.
Erik Wilde, EVP and President of Domestic Commercial & Industrial at Generac, emphasized the significance of the acquisition. “This move strengthens our capacity to provide a comprehensive energy technology ecosystem to our commercial and industrial customers,” Wilde stated. “By incorporating Ageto's advanced microgrid controllers and software into our systems, we are simplifying the process of asset integration and control, giving Generac a notable competitive edge.”
Generac has recently been on a growth trajectory, having acquired PowerPlay Battery Energy Storage Systems, a division of SunGrid Solutions, earlier this year. With these acquisitions, Generac continues to enhance its role as a leading provider of backup power and energy storage solutions for both home and business applications.
