Kuek is in charge of SDE's modernization outline, plan, and direction in the media and entertainment industry.
Melvin Kuek has been appointed as the new executive director of So Drama! Entertainment (SDE), to change the company’s leadership. After a three-month transition phase, Kuek, who began serving as Executive Director (designate), will officially take up the role on September 1, 2024, replacing current Executive Director Philip Koh.
Kuek’s new role will involve direct reporting to the SAFRA Board of Governors, with the responsibility of guiding SDE's operational efforts and strategic direction. With over 25 years of experience in marketing and advertising, including recognized leadership roles at BDDO Singapore and DDB Group Singapore, he also brings experience in driving growth, innovation, and forming strategic partnerships within the media and entertainment industry.
SDE is aiming to enhance its media production, develop engaging platforms, and maintain its forefront position in the media and entertainment industries. Using various brands—88.3JIA, POWER 98, Music & Drama Company, and PIONEER—to deliver and create influential content across multiple platforms.
The appointment as Executive Director underscores SDE’s commitment to improving audience engagement rates while promoting positive social impact through its content. His leadership is set to promote SDE’s growth in a creative environment where talent grows with new narratives.
Under Kuek’s direction, the company remains committed to delivering impactful media experiences throughout the world.
