Tarik Skubal endured a difficult Tarik Skubal Dodgers home debut at Dodger Stadium on Monday, but the Los Angeles Dodgers overcame an early deficit to defeat the Kansas City Royals 6-5.
The Dodgers comeback win over Royals provided a much-needed boost after a difficult stretch, with Skubal working five innings and needing 95 pitches to record 15 outs. His fastball command remained inconsistent throughout the outing. Skubal gave up three runs as Clegionone hit a two-run homer that went at 110.8 mph. Despite struggling with his command, the Dodgers' bats came through as Ohtani hit a double and then Freddie Freeman scored a run before Muncy provided a key three-run double in the sixth inning.
The Royals equalized the score in the following frame through Isbel’s two-run home run. However, the Dodgers' advantage was restored by Freeman's RBI single in the last inning of the game.
