Cab driver found fatally stabbed in Delhi vehicle; passengers suspected?

40-year-old Vijay Kumar, a cab driver, was found dead due to stab wounds inside his Wagon R vehicle near metro pillar number 90, in Krishna Nagar on Thursday night. The police stated that they received an emergency call regarding stabbing incident around 9 PM, after which the dead body of Kumar was found sitting in the driver’s seat of the car.

As investigators disclosed that the vehicle was standing alone and Kumar had already been taken to the nearby hospital, where he was declared dead after reaching the hospital. The preliminary investigations showed that the cab driver had received multiple stab injuries indicating that he had some violent confrontation while he was driving the taxi. The authorities suppose that his own passengers who took the ride just before the incident attacked Kumar, but the sequence of events that caused this incident is still being reviewed. The police indicated that nothing was stolen from the cab driver, as none of his belongings including his wallet and cell phone was missing.

In order to determine the location of the cab where the suspects boarded it, police are presently looking into the booking records and examining the CCTV footage collected from the places nearby. Moreover, the authorities are perusing Kumar's call logs to gather information about his movements and possible contacts made prior to the incident. A senior officer claimed that since the passengers had paid the driver, the incident becomes even more complicated while it is unknown how this particular confrontation took place afterwards.

Based on the evidence available in this case, the authorities filed a case for murder under the Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police asked the people to provide any information they may have regarding the assailants.
