Historic World Baseball Classic Final: Venezuela Secures First-Ever Title over USA with Dramatic Ninth-Inning Heroics Before a Sold-Out Miami Crowd.

Venezuela won its very first World Baseball Classic title as it beat the United States by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday at LoanDepot Park in Miami. Eugenio Suárez scored the winning run in the top of the ninth inning as Venezuela won its very first World Baseball Classic title in front of a sold-out crowd of 36,190 fans.

Venezuela has proved its excellence in batting as well as pitching during this year’s World Baseball Classic tournament. Salvador Pérez, Ronald Acuña Jr., and Maikel García have contributed significantly to the game by contributing crucial runs for the Venezuelan team. Even though the United States managed to tie the game with a two-run homer by Bryce Harper in the eighth inning, Venezuela’s Eugenio Suárez managed to win the game with a double in the ninth inning.

Captain of the Venezuelan team, Salvador Pérez, has admitted that this win is important for Venezuela as “When you fight for your country, that feeling goes beyond the game. So, this means a lot to me and to Venezuela.” The Venezuelan team’s MVP, Maikel García, is confident that Venezuela is a team that should be ranked as the best in the world, as “They underestimated Venezuela, but today we proved our strength. We are powerful, and our ranking should reflect that.”

This is a major win as it proves that Venezuela is becoming more powerful in international baseball competitions. There were sixty-three Venezuelan-born players in the opening day rosters of last year's Major League Baseball season. This comes second after the Dominican Republic. Venezuela has done well in the past in the World Baseball Classic competitions. However, this is the first time that Venezuela has won, and this is a landmark in the history of baseball in Venezuela.
