Leadership reshuffle sees Goswami lead marketing and product as Delta advances brand evolution and customer experience strategy.
Delta Air Lines' Chief Marketing Officer Alicia Tillman is leaving the company after three years to pursue "broader leadership opportunities." Tillman has been instrumental in leading the transformation of Delta's marketing organization, and Ranjan Goswami, an 18-year company veteran, who will take on the new role of chief marketing and product officer, will succeed her departure.
Tillman joined Delta in June 2021 from fintech brand Capitolis, and previously worked at SAP and American Express, where she led marketing, public affairs, and business services for its travel division. During her tenure at Delta, she has overseen several marketing campaigns including the brand's Team USA Olympic sponsorship campaigns and the launch of its "Delta Locals" platform and the carrier's pivot to a more lifestyle focused brand.
Goswami who will step into the marketing role has been with Delta since 2008 and has risen through the ranks to his current position of Senior Vice President of Customer Experience Design. He has played a key role in connecting Delta's onboard digital experience with its loyalty program, SkyMiles and has led the company's day to day safety, operational and customer service departments during the Covid-19 pandemic. The leadership changes at Delta come during a broader reshuffle including the retirement of longtime operations Chief John Laughter who will be replaced by CFO Dan Janki. Other promotions include Peter Carter to president, Erik Snell to CFO and Alain Bellemare taking on the additional role of chairperson of Delta TechOps.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian praised Goswami's vision and leadership stating that he has "elevated Delta's brand strengthened our partnerships and improved travel for our customers while always remaining deeply connected to our people." Tillman also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead Delta's marketing organization saying that it has been "one of the most rewarding chapters of my career."
Business Honor is of the view that the reshuffle reflects Delta’s push toward a more unified brand vision.
