UAE Partners Telangana to Develop Bharat Future City as a Worldwide Smart City

UAE, global firms, and tech partners will help Telangana build Bharat Future City as a sustainable, net-zero smart urban hub.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed an interest in collaborating with the Telangana government in order to develop the Bharat Future city as a major international smart city. UAE Minister of Economy & Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri introduced the plan at the World Economic Forum, which was represented at Davos by the Rising Team of Telangana, headed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. During this discussion, the UAE minister proposed establishing a joint task force together with officials from both sides to ensure easy and smooth execution of this project. The discussions focused on huge building efforts, with Bharat Future City highlighted as an example project for future collaboration.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, aiming to make Telangana a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Reddy described Bharat Future City as India's first Net-Zero Greenfield Smart City. The city is planned as a sustainable and technologically advanced city, with specific zones for AI, healthcare, education, industries, housing, and entertainment to guarantee balanced urban development. The Chief Minister further stated that several major businesses have already joined on the effort. Marubeni and Semcorp are on board, and Reliance Group's Vantara has signed a deal to establish a new zoo in Future City.

At the same time, Saudi Arabia-based industrial company Expertise expressed an interest in working with Telangana's Young India Skills University (YISU). Each year, the company plans to recruit around 5,000 talented experts in order to help create jobs and build skills. In addition, Google also showed an interest in working with Telangana on agriculture and climate change issues like soil health and proper fertilizer usage. The project aims to create new standards in smart urban development by offering an example for cities that combine economic growth, innovation, and conservation of the environment for future generations.
