Tencent and Huawei launched DeepSeek AI on cloud platforms, allowing developers install AI quickly, cheaply, and easily without complex hardware setups.
Tencent Cloud, the cloud computing division of Chinese internet giant Tencent, announced it has launched the DeepSeek R1 AI model on its Hyper Application Inventor platform, making strong AI services easier and faster for developers. According to the business, developers can now use and deploy the DeepSeek R1 model in just three minutes, reducing major technical and time challenges.
Huawei made the same move, launching DeepSeek R1 and V3 inference services on Huawei Cloud through an agreement with a third-party vendor. These developments are part of a larger push by Chinese cloud services to integrate powerful local AI models in their platforms and make them accessible to all. Tencent Cloud believes their new solution reduces the entire process to just two steps, which allows developers to avoid infrastructure setup and focus on creating and distributing applications.
A technology sector expert, Liu Dingding, believes the change will benefit both startups and mid-sized businesses. Improving productivity and reduces entry level obstacles to innovation by removing the need for particular technical abilities and expensive devices. Dingding also claimed that the collaboration between Tencent, Huawei, and AI startup DeepSeek suggests a trend in China's technology sector toward greater cooperation than strong competition.
Huawei Cloud claims that DeepSeek models that run on its platform can give performance comparable to services powered by the best global GPU infrastructure. DeepSeek has gained worldwide popularity with major technology companies, like US-based GPU manufacturer Nvidia, adopting the approach into their platforms. In the future the incorporation of AI models into cloud platforms could change the technology environment. Leading to faster innovation, reduced development costs, and establishing cloud services as an important element of future digital transformation worldwide.
