Veeqo Opens Flagship Office in Swansea, Empowering E-commerce with Cutting Edge Software and Amazon’s Investment for Future Growth.
A Welsh technology startup, which operates under the ownership of Amazon, has recently opened its flagship office in Swansea at a leading local development. Swansea Council developed Kingsway in partnership with funding from Swansea Bay City Deal for the purpose of bringing together technology, digital and creative sector businesses in Swansea. Veeqo's business headquarters were officially opened on Friday (5 December) at a special event, which was attended by local politicians including Swansea West Member of Parliament Torsten Bell. Amazon purchased Veeqo in 2021m the first location was the one that opened in 2022. This site also represents Amazon’s first “Development Centre”, located in Wales.
In the past three years, the workforce has increased from 60 employees to over 200, with the majority of the employees located at the new Swansea office. Amazon has committed to investing more than £60m into the Swansea office (as well as the Veeqo corporate headquarters) from 2022 through 2025. As part of their larger investment plan of £40bn for the UK over the next three years, the company plans to invest an extra £100m from now until 2032. This total of more than £150m will be a ten-year commitment on behalf of Amazon.
Matt Warren (CEO) as an e-commerce seller looking for tools to streamline their operations when shipping orders through various sales channels simultaneously founded Veeqo in 2013. In an effort to help entrepreneurs and businesses sell globally more efficiently, Matt stated: “With our new location in Swansea, we can continue on the path of providing the best services possible for entrepreneurs.”
