JetBlue Launches Mini Mint First-Class Service

The new premium cabin will enhance passenger comfort and experience across JetBlue's domestic Airbus fleet starting in 2026.

In a noteworthy moment for air travel in the United States, JetBlue Airways has announced that it is ready to introduce its own first-class service called “Junior Mint” or “Mini Mint.” This innovative announcement comes after months of anticipation from customers regarding JetBlue's plans to enhance the level of service provided by JetBlue. The company plans to move away from providing an economy class-only experience towards introducing additional seating options (in this case, a premium-class product) to bridge the gap between the existing economy category and the already established-Mint product. Mini Mint will be equipped with full-size first-class reclining and reclining chairs, similar to what American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines use to offer their customers.

In 2026, JetBlue will launch its "Mini Mint" cabin on the A220, A320 and A321. Presently, JetBlue has begun pursuing FAA certification required for installation of the new seat configuration as a part of their upgrade of the aircraft’s cabin to the "Mini Mint "configuration. The seats for JetBlue's first class section are the Collins Aerospace MiQ seats, which also appear in American Airlines' domestic first class. JetBlue anticipates the first prototype "Mini Mint" to be completed in June 2026 and to have the first A320 upgrades completed by August 2026.

The changes to the seating configuration of JetBlue's Airbus aircrafts once the project has completed its overhaul include: an Increase in the total number of seats on its Airbus A220 from 140 seats to 143 seats (8 First Class and 135 in Economy Class) and its Airbus A320s will continue to have 162 seats (12 First Class and 150 in Economy Class) along with the Airbuses A321ceos will conform to 198 total seats (12 in First Class) instead of 200.
