Old National's CIO, Matt Keen, was appointed to oversee tech strategy, expansion, and innovation.
As the new Chief Information Officer (CIO), Matt Keen has joined Old National Bancorp's executive leadership team. As the bank continues its planned expansion throughout the Midwest and Southeast, this move comes at an important moment. Keen has an established track record in corporate architecture, cloud optimization, digital banking services and platform modernization, along with more than 30 years of experience in technology leadership. Before joining Old National, to his most recent position as CIO at Bremer Bank which is now a part of Old National as of May 2025 that he held executive positions at important organizations such as Ameriprise Financial and Two Harbors Investments.
Keen will lead the bank's technology plan in his new position, highlighting creativity and teamwork. He is responsible for making sure that technology keeps development business expansion, optimizing processes and improving the experience for customers and team members. Advanced analytics, automation and data will be important works of his plan for creating a digital infrastructure that looks to the future.
As Old National expands its footprint, the company knows the need for its technology to grow in parallel. Chairman and CEO Jim Ryan highlighted that Matt Keen’s extensive expertise will play a key role in advancing modern; client centered digital solutions while preserving the personalized service that has long been central to the bank’s identity. Keen, who lives in Chanhassen, Minnesota, graduated from the University of St. Thomas who holds a degree in quantitative techniques and computer science.
After a successful term that includes establishing a transformative alliance with Infosys and winning the Indianapolis Business Journal's 2024 "Tech Exec of the Year" award, he succeeds Paul S. Kilroy, who retires. Keen was excited about his new position and said he was looking forward to increasing Old National's famous technological base. He showed how important it is to use technology to support and advance the internal teams as well as to provide clients with more value.
