Bharat Forge acquires AAM India to improve its electric vehicle (EV) and traditional components and to strengthen its worldwide mobility growth strategy.
AAM India Manufacturing Private Limited was acquired by Bharat Forge Limited (BFL), a known name in engineering and automotive solutions, for Rs 746.46 crore. Competition Commission of India (CCI) granted regulatory approval for the deal on April 22, 2025, after it was first revealed on October 17, 2024.
AAM India has a reserve fund of Rs 189.48 crore as part of the deal, which BFL plans to apply for further growth and advances in technology. Current working capital improvements as of now might result in a slight variation in the final value of equity. Major turning point in Bharat Forge's strategy to expand its presence in traditional and electric vehicle (EV) sectors has been achieved with this deal.
Bharat Forge aims to expand its product range and offer manufacturers additional options by collaborating with AAM India. This move will strengthen BFL's ability to supply parts for future transportation platforms, such as electric and new energy cars, alongside vehicles with combustion engines. This deal occurs as the auto sector worldwide swiftly shifts to lighter, more effective cars with advanced electrical engines.
According to BFL, the deal adds an experienced and reliable partner who has solid customer relationships, particularly in the growing EV market. In addition, it puts the business in an improved position to help OEMs wanting complete solutions for a range of transportation technologies.
AAM India is popular as an important provider for major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) throughout the nation as well as across the world. It is a helpful upgrade to BFL's growing portfolio because of its solid position in both new transportation components and traditional engine solutions. Bharat Forge continues to reinforce its goal of becoming the leading solutions provider in the global automotive component market with this move. It is expected that BFL's growth, technological benefit, and aim to be a leader in the future of mobility will all be strengthened by its acquisition of AAM India.
