Vivek Gupta resigns as CoinDCX CTO; company strengthens leadership, hires over 100 new roles
After five years with CoinDCX, Vivek Gupta, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), has stepped down. Popular Indian crypto currency exchange CoinDCX congratulated him for his important services and confirmed his resignation. Gupta expanded the technical staff to more than 200 people during his tenure and contributed to the development of a solid technological foundation. The business stated that his contribution to the establishment of an international engineering center that facilitates its expansion in India and beyond. But it's unclear what Gupta will do for a living next.
Although CoinDCX has not formally acknowledged it, sources suggest that Tushar Tarun the company's head of legal affairs is also departing along with Gupta. After leaving Cashfree Payments, Tarun joined CoinDCX almost a year ago. CoinDCX stated that it is hiring for over 100 open positions, including key positions like General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), in an effort to bolster its leadership. The business has refuted reports that Abhinav Jain Janka, the head of finance, was departing, despite similar rumors appearing in various media outlets.
In 2018, Sumit Gupta and Neeraj Khandelwal founded CoinDCX. Users can exchange bitcoins and other digital assets on the platform. It offers more than 500 crypto currency assets for trading and has over 16 million users. After obtaining $90 million in funding led by B Capital Group, which Eduardo Saverin, a co-founder of Facebook, helped build, the company became India's first crypto unicorn in 2021. Recently, it expanded into the Middle East and North Africa region by launching a trading platform called BitOasis in Bahrain, where it also received a crypto-asset services license from the central bank. CoinDCX competes with other crypto exchanges like Coinbase, Binance and CoinSwitch Kuber in India’s market.
