Leading Edge Group buys Contrac IT, strengthening and diversifying its UK and Spain service presence.
Contrac IT is an IT managed service provider with locations in Barnsley, Durham and Malaga has been bought by Cardiff-based Leading Edge Group (UK) which is an outsourced supplier of BT products and services. The transaction supports Leading Edge's plan to expand its client base and service offerings by marking its first acquisition outside of its conventional BT services emphasis. By adding Contrac IT's expertise and clientele, Leading Edge will be able to expand its offers and increase its presence in England and Spain.
Daniel Hill, CEO of Leading Edge described the acquisition as a significant planned decision that enables the company to diversify its assets and increase its market reach. According to Hill, Contrac IT's extensive experience and customer service skills will make new markets accessible. Hill also expressed enthusiasm for growing the UK group by applying insights and shared knowledge to improve customer service in both businesses and offer opportunities for future expansion.
The corporate finance team at Dow Schofield Watts in Cardiff which offered financial and tax due diligence led by Rob Parker and Catriona Lang, as well as corporate finance deal negotiation and end-to-end process management services, led by Koo Aseeley and assisted by Benjamin Nix, advised Leading Edge. The funding for the purchase was supplied by Barclays Bank.
According to Koo Aseeley, corporate finance partner at DSW in Cardiff, Contrac IT is a reputable company that adds significant growth potential and strengthens Leading Edge's service capabilities. He went on to say that the transaction demonstrates the strength of Leading Edge's approach and that he is optimistic about both businesses' future expansion with Barclays' help.
