Unicommerce Expands into Ad-Tech, Loyalty Programs, and New Markets

Unicommerce expands with acquisitions in logistics and marketing automation and plans for new markets.

Unicommerce was established in 2012 and is listed on the BSE and NSE. With the increasing number of online orders, especially through fast commerce, the e-commerce enablement platform Unicommerce is looking to expand into new markets, such as ad-tech solutions and consumer loyalty programs.

Three layers make up the e-commerce value chain: order fulfillment, transaction processing (where our systems are already in use), and consumer interaction (pre-purchase). Our system is currently used by brands to handle orders across numerous channels. They also need to make the most of their advertising budgets on platforms like Google, Facebook, Amazon, and Flipkart," said Kapil Makhija, the managing director and CEO of Unicommerce.

Last year, for ₹68.4 crore in cash, Unicommerce purchased a 42.76% share in Shipway. Within a year, the company intends to purchase the remaining holding through a stock swap. Shipway offers logistics management solutions, such as shipping automation and courier aggregation.

Convertway, a marketing automation tool, was also added to Unicommerce's portfolio through the transaction. Brands can use Convertway to gather visitor data and launch focused advertising campaigns to increase sales.

Makhija emphasized that strategic acquisitions will remain a primary objective. Our objective is to provide a one-stop shop for e-commerce enablement. We are happy to assess interesting prospects at reasonable prices, provided they are compatible.

India's e-commerce sector is expected to reach over $160 billion by 2028, up from an estimated $57 billion to $60 billion in 2023, according to industry projections. Direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands and a larger ecosystem of businesses that support e-commerce have grown as a result of this development.

Brands, marketplaces, and logistics companies can manage e-commerce operations from start to finish with Unicommerce's SaaS-based platform. Timex, Mamaearth, Emami, Urban Company, Blue Star, and Landmark Group are among the more than 7,000 customers the company services throughout India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
