Quectel introduces adaptable FGM842D and FGM842D-P modules for smart homes and industrial IoT applications.
The Quectel FGM842D, FGM842D-P Wi-Fi 4, and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.2 modules have also been announced by Quectel Wireless Solutions, a global provider of IoT solutions. High-performance ARM968 processors with integrated 288KB RAM and 2MB flash memory are featured in the modules to guarantee effective operation. The modules provide support for SPI, I2C, ADC, and PWM functions in the QuecOpen solution, which offers a variety of low power consumption modes and a keep alive mechanism to give designers and developers the most freedom possible. They also support UART and GPIO interfaces.
The modules feature the True Random Number Generator (TRNG) and the AES-128 encryption technique, and they adhere to the WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, and WPA3-SAE security standards, making them perfect for smart home and industrial IoT deployments. The modules also have flash encryption and safe firmware.
The modules' small LGA (Line Grid Array) box, which measures 12.5 x 13.2 x 1.8 mm for the Quectel FGM842D and 16.6 x 13.2 x 1.8 mm for the FGM842D-P, adds to their allure. Instead of the FGM842D's third-generation RF coaxial connector or pin antenna interface, the FGM842D-P has a PCB antenna. The modules function in the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequency range and can withstand temperatures between -40°C and +105°C.
Quectel Wireless Solutions President and CSO Norbert Muhrer were thrilled about the introduction of the Quectel FGM842D and FGM842D-P. He pointed out that these small, powerful Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.2 modules are incredibly versatile and cost-effective. Because of this, they are perfect for a wide range of applications, including industrial IoT, smart homes, and many more deployment situations.
