IBM unveils new cloud-integrated solutions to simplify infrastructure management and boost efficiency.
IBM (NYSE: IBM) is accelerating its position in the as-a-service space with the introduction of IBM Storage Ceph as a Service, a solution designed to streamline infrastructure management and reduce operational costs. With this new offering, IBM continues to expand its portfolio of flexible, on-premises solutions, which already includes the IBM Power Virtual Server, providing businesses with powerful options for cloud-based computing and storage.
A recent IDC study reveals that by 2028, 80% of IT buyers will prioritize as-a-service consumption for critical workloads. The growing demand for operational efficiency, optimized IT spending, and sustainability is driving this shift. IBM’s Storage Ceph as a Service answers this demand by offering a fully managed, software-defined storage solution that unifies block, file, and object data. The solution aims to simplify data management, helping organizations modernize their data lakes and virtual machine storage with cloud-level scalability and flexibility.
"As more organizations leverage AI and transition to digital infrastructure, having seamless, automated operations is crucial," said McLeod Glass, VP of Growth and Innovation Programs, IBM Infrastructure. "Delivering IT through an as-a-service model enables flexibility, speed, and ease of consumption that businesses need to stay ahead."
IBM’s Power Virtual Server, another key part of the company's expanding as-a-service offerings, has already made an impact at National Van Lines. This solution helped the company mitigate the effects of power outages and optimize their disaster recovery plan, reducing recovery times from days to just hours. By utilizing IBM’s architecture, National Van Lines can expand its infrastructure both economically and securely, providing critical support for their business operations.
IBM’s suite of as-a-service solutions continues to offer enterprises scalable, cost-efficient alternatives that align IT spending with actual usage. These solutions promise to simplify infrastructure management while reducing risks and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
