SMK Electronics launches Smoke Defender system at CES 2025 for real-time smoke detection in fleet vehicles.
SMK Electronics Corporation, U.S.A. launched its Smoke Defender & In-Cabin Smoke Detection System at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The new system is designed to detect passenger use of tobacco, marijuana, and vaping products in real-time and offers fleet vehicle operators cloud-based incident management capabilities. The product will provide fleet owners with protection against smoke-related damage to their assets, especially in autonomous, rideshare, rental, and robotaxi vehicles.
Speaking on the occasion, Paul Evans, President of SMK Electronics Corporation, USA said, "We are thrilled to introduce our Smoke Defender & In-Cabin Smoke Detection Solution at CES 2025. The system empowers fleet vehicle operators with the ability to detect, log and report smoking incidents in real time, providing unprecedented protection against smoke-related damage."
The Smoke Defender system employs the latest multi-function air quality sensors that can classify tobacco, marijuana, and vaping smoke with accuracy. The system records each occurrence and transmits all the information to a cloud-based management platform to ensure fleet operators act quickly to the issues at hand.
This innovative solution is not only in the fleet vehicle area. Evans says, "This system is designed primarily for automotive applications but can also be configured for use in hotels, time-share properties, and bed-and-breakfast establishments."
The Smoke Defender & In-Cabin Smoke Detection System is a reliable and scalable solution for businesses to safeguard their vehicles and properties from the damages caused by smoking. It's a key innovation in protecting high-value assets in the rapidly evolving transportation and hospitality industries.
