Brazil boosts luxury tourism at ILTM, showcasing exclusive destinations, sustainability, and cultural authenticity.

Brazil has significantly increased its presence at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM), reflecting its commitment to improving the luxury tourism sector. In 2024, Brazil's exhibition has doubled its number of co-exhibitors, from 8 to 14. This includes 7 tour operators, 3 destinations, and 4 hotel ventures, besides the Brazilian Tourist Board (Embratur). The country is presenting exclusive travel experiences across key destinations such as the Pantanal, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia, and São Paulo.

With diversified business networks for luxury tourism dedicated to providing a sustainable high-end travel experience, Brazil's luxury tourism is steadily growing. One of the partnership keys is that Embratur is linked to the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service, or Sebrae, in an effort to facilitate entrepreneurship among smaller businesses while pushing forward the interest of Brazil on the world's map in the luxury travel industry.

BLTA members, in their presentation, showed revenue growth of 14.05% in the year 2023, overtaking the worldwide market growth. Embratur President Marcelo Freixo confirmed that Brazil was a luxury destination, characterized by unique landscapes and sophisticated services which have a level of cultural authenticity. He considered the Pantanal and the Atlantic Forest as first-class attractions that could attract these discerning tourists.

It is crucial that small businesses develop the tourism industry in Brazil because they are capable of creating jobs and improving cultural and creative expressions," said Décio Lima, president of Sebrae. Besides well-known destinations such as Rio and Bahia, Trancoso and Itacaré in Bahia are also making international headlines.

In addition to growing European tourism, luxury tourism in Brazil is boosted by that, as its tourists grew in Europe in 2024 by 20.7%. New flights and hosting the COP30, which takes place in 2025, increase this country's attractiveness for world travelers, hence the luxury traveling segment will expand further.
