Syria Launches the Beaumont to Improve Luxury Tourism Development

-Liyaga Suresh Babu

The Beaumont in Damascus promotes tourism development, offering luxury hotels, residences, retail, jobs, and investment opportunities for high-end travelers.

Development of the Beaumont Project will be completed through the partnership of the Syrian Ministry of Tourism and Ezdihar Holding, whereby the development of the luxurious real estate and leisure destination will cost around $250–$300 million within a span of 77,000 square meters, adjacent to the Umayyad Square in Damascus. This is aimed at boosting luxury travel and tourism development in new destinations in the Middle East through the creation of employment opportunities as well as attracting foreign investments.

Two iconic towers by the banks of the Barada River will form the heart of the project within the city of Damascus. The luxury five-star hotel comprising 150 rooms, a presidential suite, a number of facilities and amenities like the dining and exclusive members’ club, and a large spa complex, among other facilities, will be built. The second tower will have 26 levels of high-end homes, consisting of serviced apartments to luxurious duplex penthouses for wealthy individuals and tourists for longer stays with unique living experiences. The entire project will also include a two-story shopping center, an outdoor promenade with cafes and eateries, and a ten-floor commercial building aimed at attracting both local and international businesses.

Apart from being a hotel destination, the project will create direct employment opportunities for 1,500 to 2,500 employees and indirectly employ around 3,500 employees, thus emphasizing the economic revival potential of the project. The project will also showcase the commitment of Syria towards transparency, good governance, and adherence to international standards, which is backed by efforts in nurturing human capital through international training programs. Being such an ambitious project, The Beaumont will certainly revolutionize the way luxury tourism infrastructure projects are developed in developing nations by establishing Syria as a country of choice for luxury travelers. According to Business Honor, the project is indeed a breakthrough that will see the emergence of luxury tourism in the country.
