Lufthansa’s summer 2025 schedule includes new long-haul and European destinations, plus the return of the A380.
Lufthansa Group has revealed its summer 2025 flight schedule, featuring an exciting expansion of routes across North America, Europe, and Africa. With more than 12,000 weekly flights and over 300 destinations globally, the group, which includes Lufthansa, Discover Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, and Edelweiss, is poised to offer enhanced connectivity for travelers in the upcoming summer season.
Key New International Routes
Among the highlights of the new schedule are several long-haul and intercontinental connections. These include:
Frankfurt Hub: Lufthansa Airlines will launch a new route to Bydgoszcz, Poland. Additionally, Discover Airlines will offer flights from Frankfurt to Ålesund, Norway.
Munich Hub: Discover Airlines expands its North American service with new routes to Calgary, Canada, and Orlando, USA. The Munich hub will also offer new connections to Windhoek, Namibia, and Bodø, Norway.
Zurich Hub: Edelweiss will introduce flights from Zurich to Halifax, Canada, and Seattle, USA, along with new European routes to Calvi, France, and Terceira in the Azores.
These new routes will complement the Lufthansa Group's offerings to key international markets, especially North America and Africa, for travelers' long-haul travel options.
But on the European level, Lufthansa Group continues to strengthen its network through the opening of new routes that will allow travellers to connect to both well-known and lesser-known places. Austrian Airlines expands its services from Vienna to Edinburgh/Scotland, to Sylt/Germany, Burgas/Bulgaria, and Harstad-Narvik/Norway. Swiss International Air Lines expands its route network from Zurich to Niš/Serbia, to Montpellier/France, and to Heringsdorf/Germany. The primary objective is to offer more alternatives in summer to travelers who want to explore unique destinations in Europe, be it a coastal hideaway or mountain scenery.
The new routes by the Group will go hand-in-hand with the Airbus A380 return to Lufthansa. The aircraft type will be used on the key long-haul routes from Munich to Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Delhi. The return of the A380 to Lufthansa's fleet cements the airline's policy of available high-capacity premium travel options for its busier routes. Therefore, it means more comfort for passengers on more popular international routes.
All routes are now available for sale for travel through summer 2025, so book your travel early. More long-haul and European options, along with a return to A380s, certainly put the group firmly in position to compete with the best of the global aviation market. Lufthansa is certainly one airline truly acting to deliver a seamless quality experience as it exercises immense care in providing travelers with sound connectivity on its network.
