New enterprise Linux offering enhances operational efficiency and performance in aerospace applications.

Wind River has launched its commercial enterprise Linux solution, dubbed eLxr Pro, designed specifically for the stringent aerospace industry standards. The eLxr Pro offering is built on top of the open-source eLxr project and continues to drive simplification of cloud-to-edge deployments in aerospace applications such as autonomous flight systems and operations-intensive data manipulations.

eLxr Pro meets the need for high-performance, secure, and scalable solutions in the aerospace industry. Optimized for Debian-based architecture, it provides long-term support and professional services tailored to the aerospace sector, thus meeting the typical regulations and standards of performance.

Avijit Sinha, president of Wind River, highlighted that the reason there is a need for open-source option is because it will provide dependable innovation which can be both driven by the community along with commercial-grade support. "With eLxr Pro, the aerospace organizations can innovate boldly, backed by our industry leadership," said Sinha.

Built to address a wide variety of use cases- including AI inference and machine learning, which play a necessary part in the development of advanced aerospace technologies-eLxr Pro accelerates remote updates and container-based application orchestration to enhance operational efficiency that allows companies to deploy mission-critical systems with greater confidence.

What ends up in the bag for Wind River here is something more than just strengthening the overall Linux portfolio but also proving their commitment to providing better solutions to the aerospace industry.
