Air India expands Vista Stream, enabling BYOD inflight entertainment on all aircraft.
Air India has rolled out the Vista Stream, a wireless inflight entertainment service, to its narrowbody fleet. The airline first introduced this service earlier in the year for its widebody fleet, and with it, passengers can now stream a large number of titles directly to their personal devices such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops, making it a seamless, immersive experience all the way to the destination. With this upgrade, Vista Stream will now feature on all Air India wide body and narrow-body aircraft serving both international and domestic routes to be able to have entertainment anywhere one travels.
The Vista Stream platform is developed under the concept of BYOD which means 'bring your own device' - therefore, a traveler can watch a movie using a personal electronic device without extra hardware or software installation. This will allow the passenger to get direct access to movies, music, TV programs, and documentaries on their personal devices, allowing them to keep themselves entertained for the duration of the flight more conveniently and flexibly. Live flight map real-time tracking will also be a part of this service.
Speaking to the expansion of Vista Stream, Air India Chief Customer Experience Officer Rajesh Dogra said: "As we continue to transform Air India into a world-class airline, we are happy to introduce Vista Stream that enables our guests to access digital entertainment content on their personal devices during their flight." Now with this service extended to its narrowbody fleet, the carrier is further elevating its BYOD service such that passengers shall be able to access entertainment across all domestic as well as international flights.
Vista Stream will be available across all iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS devices, and this will facilitate its use across all passengers without any restrictions due to the specific device used. This service follows Air India's commitment to increasing passenger convenience through innovative, technology-driven solutions on an ongoing basis.
