Braun succeeds Ram Vadlamannati, who will retire after 25 years with the company.
The company has made known the appointment of a Senior Vice President of Operations. Kevin Braun, senior vice president of PPG's industrial coatings segment, is appointed to the position, the company said in a news release. In the role, Braun will lead PPG's operations organization, which includes all supply chain management and operational excellence functions, manufacturing operations, procurement, and environmental health and safety activities.
Braun will take over from Ram Vadlamannati, who had decided to retire after 25 years with PPG. Vadlamannati will continue to work with the company through the end of the year to facilitate a seamless transition to Braun. In this position, Braun will continue to be directly under the control of PPG Chairman and CEO Tim Knavish and will also maintain responsibility for packaging coatings and specialty coatings and materials.
Tim Knavish commended Vadlamannati, citing that as a valued member of the company, and congratulated Braun on his new post. "This is an important area of our growth strategy, and I am confident that Kevin and his team will deliver," Knavish declared.
These developments are part of PPG's continued investment in its global operations with the aim to further enhance its overall growth strategy in the coatings industry.
