Tech Giant Salesforce Enhances AI Talent and Solutions Amidst Growing Competition
Salesforce in a recent announcement said its plans to acquire Tenyx, an innovative startup specializing in AI-powered voice agents. The acquisition, which is expected to finalize in the third quarter, aims to enhance Salesforce's AI-driven solutions. The deal's financial terms have not been disclosed, but Tenyx’s co-founders, CEO Itamar Arel and CTO Adam Earle, along with their team, will join Salesforce as part of the integration.
Founded in 2022 and based in California, Tenyx provides AI voice solutions across various sectors, including e-commerce, healthcare, hospitality, and travel. This acquisition is part of Salesforce's broader strategy to strengthen its position in the AI space, following a period of significant organizational shifts and pressure from activist investors.
The move comes as Salesforce looks to reignite its revenue growth trajectory. The company recently moved away from aggressive acquisition strategies and increased share buybacks but now seeks to expand its capabilities through targeted acquisitions.
This acquisition reflects a broader trend in the tech industry, where major players are competing to enhance their AI offerings. Earlier this year, Microsoft acquired AI talent from Inflection for $650 million, and Amazon hired key personnel from AI startup Adept in June.
Salesforce’s recent second-quarter results exceeded Wall Street expectations, driven by increased spending on its enterprise cloud products. The addition of Tenyx’s AI expertise is expected to further bolster Salesforce's competitive edge in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
