RailTel secures major contracts to enhance smart infrastructure, energy management, and digital services across India.
RailTel Corporation of India Ltd won a significant order worth Rs 134.47 crore from Adani Connex Private Limited for an Advanced Smart Metering Infrastructure Project. This project is to be undertaken from September 27, 2024, to September 26, 2034, with the objective of modernizing energy metering infrastructure, improving energy management, and providing quality services to consumers. This will allow proper monitoring and managing of energy consumptions for sustainable futures and improvements in service deliveries.
Apart from this, RailTel has secured several projects in different sectors that demonstrate the company's leadership in smart infrastructure development. The company secured a major contract of Rs 155.72 crore from the Rural Development Department of Maharashtra to operationalize the ASSK-GP project in the Konkan, Pune, and Nashik regions. This project indicates the role of RailTel in developing digital infrastructure in rural areas to improve connectivity and communication for local governance and citizens.
Further, RailTel's entry into the healthcare sector has also been noticed, as a contract of Rs 48.7 crore has been received for the development of an Integrated Claims Management Solution Portal and Mobile Application for Health Insurance TPA of India Ltd. This would be useful to the healthcare providers as well as to the recipients with efficiency and transparency in healthcare claims management.
With smart infrastructure projects, such as rail telecom upgrades and large-scale fiber optic network expansions, RailTel is positioned at the vanguard of India's telecom and IT landscape. The company's strong order book of Rs 4,682 crore and recent "Navratna" status recognition further consolidate its position as a leader in promoting innovation, smart infrastructure, and digital transformation in India.
