By purchasing IBM's QRadar for $500 million and incorporating advanced threat protection, Palo Alto Networks expands its cybersecurity offering.

The $500 million purchase of IBM's QRadar Software as a Service (SaaS) assets has been stated by Palo Alto Networks, a leading cybersecurity company worldwide. As of September 4, 2024, Palo Alto Networks' cybersecurity offerings have significantly expanded because of to this calculated approach.

Through this partnership, Palo Alto Networks' Cortex XSIAM platform—which currently supports Attack Surface Management (ASM), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR), and Extended Detection and Response (XDR)—will gain access to QRadar's capabilities. The purpose of this integration is to enhance threat detection and response while improving security operations.

Customers that meet the requirements will receive complimentary migration services from Eligible customers will benefit from free migration services provided by IBM Consulting, ensuring an easy transition to the new platform. QRadar on-premises clients will continue receiving support, while SaaS customers will maintain their current deployments until they are ready to switch.

To safeguard its employees worldwide, IBM will also implement Palo Alto Networks' solutions inside. This acquisition, which combines IBM's experience with Palo Alto Networks' latest innovations, is a major step forward for cybersecurity.
