At the core of SEALCOIN’s innovation is the Secure Element, a sophisticated embedded security hardware
WISeKey International Holding has achieved a major milestone with the successful completion of its Proof of Concept (PoC) for Transactional-IoT (t-IoT) technology, under the project name SEALCOIN. This advancement highlights SEALCOIN’s potential to revolutionize the Internet of Things (IoT) by enabling secure, autonomous transactions between interconnected devices without the need for intermediaries.
At the core of SEALCOIN’s innovation is the Secure Element, a sophisticated embedded security hardware that protects the private key and certificate representing each device’s unique identity. This leverages elliptic curve cryptography (ECC), which is compatible with Hedera's Decentralized Ledger Technology (DLT), to allow devices to authenticate and validate transactions independently. The integration of ECC with DLT ensures that devices can securely and transparently sign transactions on-chain in real time. WISeKey is further advancing its efforts by establishing SEALCOIN AG, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) dedicated to this decentralized technology project. The company has set a goal to deliver a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) by Q4 2024, signaling a significant step towards commercializing this technology.
SEALCOIN’s PoC underscores the transformative potential of t-IoT by enhancing security, efficiency, and reducing costs within the IoT ecosystem. With Hedera’s high-performance DLT as its backbone, SEALCOIN is well-positioned to lead the way in enabling secure and autonomous device interactions, marking a new era in IoT innovation.
