HCLTech’s latest acquisition aims to bolster its data analytics capabilities with the addition of Zeenea’s cutting-edge metadata management solutions.
In a strategic move to enhance its data and analytics offerings, HCLTech’s subsidiary, HCLSoftware, has announced its plan to acquire Zeenea SAS, a France-based software firm, for €24 million. The all-cash transaction is expected to close by September 2024, according to a recent regulatory filing by HCLTech.
HCLSoftware’s Chief Product Officer, Kalyan Kumar, highlighted that this acquisition will significantly broaden the company’s data intelligence solutions. The integration of Zeenea’s technology will enable HCLTech to offer a unified solution for data discovery, governance, connectivity, and management, essential for enterprises navigating their data engineering and Generative AI (GenAI) initiatives.
Kumar noted, "The HCLSoftware Actian Data Platform has experienced notable growth in Hybrid Data Management and Integration. With Zeenea’s metadata management, data catalog, and governance capabilities, we are set to enhance our platform and provide our customers with comprehensive data solutions."
Zeenea, founded in 2017 and headquartered in Paris, has made a name for itself with its intelligent data discovery platform, specializing in metadata management. The company reported revenues of €2.6 million in 2023, reflecting its growing influence in the data management sector.
This acquisition marks a significant step for HCLTech as it continues to strengthen its position in the data analytics space, positioning itself as a leader in providing comprehensive and innovative data management solutions.
