The goal of a new GPU cloud service is to improve AI accessibility and infrastructure for South Korean businesses and research facilities.
A strategic agreement has been formed between SK Telecom (SKT) and Lambda, a leading AI developer cloud platform, to provide sophisticated AI cloud services in South Korea. Thanks to this collaboration, the country's AI infrastructure will grow significantly since Lambda's AI Cloud platform will be housed at SK Broadband's Gasan data center later this year.
Research labs, businesses, and startups can benefit from the scalable AI computational capacity offered by the new GPU cloud service. This project aims to accelerate the development and implementation of AI technology by making GPU computing as broadly accessible as electricity.
The CEO and co-founder of Lambda, Stephen Balaban, emphasized the significance of the collaboration by saying, "SKT shares in our vision to make GPU compute as ubiquitous as electricity." We are excited to work with SKT to strengthen South Korea's standing as a leader in AI worldwide.
The relationship has strategic advantages, as noted by SK Telecom's Vice President and Head of Enterprise commercial Division, Kim Kyeong-deog, who stated, "This partnership will strengthen SK Telecom's AI capabilities and open new business opportunities."
The installation highlights the dedication of SK Telecom and Lambda and demonstrates the rising demand for reliable AI infrastructure in South Korea.
