The United Arab Emirates has continued to build upon its global reputation as an authority on providing innovative and efficient climate solutions in 2025. As part of its commitment to the development and implementation of innovative solutions for climate protection, the UAE unveiled the world’s first large-scale “24/7” gigascale initiative located in Abu Dhabi. This cutting-edge initiative utilizes solar energy in conjunction with advanced energy storage solutions using cutting-edge battery technology to provide renewable baseload power throughout the day, up to one gigawatt (GW). After its completion, it will be the world’s most extensive solar-battery storage system and a testament to the UAE’s dedication to developing and deploying renewable energy sources.

The marine research sector has benefited from advances made in renewable energy development. The purpose-built vessel, named Jaywun, was able to successfully carry out the Arabian Gulf's first comprehensive modern seabed sediment study. This very important research will help identify the effects of Climate Change on Marine Ecosystems and proves that the UAE is serious about conserving its abundant marine environment. Additionally, the Government considers 'Water Security' as one of its high-priority areas and has introduced Geospatial Data Platforms (GDP) for Agriculture and Water Resources developed by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.

Environmental conservancy in the UAE has had many successful initiatives. Sharjah recently discovered three new plant species highlighting the region's rich biological diversity. The Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre has been included within the Wetlands Link International network as part of their ongoing commitment to preserving vital wetland habitats. This is just one of many ways in which the UAE demonstrates its commitment to providing sustainability for the planet as part of the country's overall vision for providing sustainable habitats. Through the ongoing investment in innovative, sustainable practices, the UAE continues to demonstrate its leadership in the global fight against climate change.
