TCS introduces chiplet-based services to support India’s semiconductor innovation and improve energy-efficient chip designs for emerging technologies.
A leading firm in IT services and consulting, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has introduced Chiplet-Based System Services in order to satisfy the increasing need for modern semiconductor services. With the aim to support system developers and chip design businesses in developing advanced, energy-saving semiconductors for use in consumer telecom, automotive, and artificial intelligence.
Chiplet architecture, a modern approach that combines a number of functional chip blocks into a single package, is the main focus of the new services. Allowing more design flexibility, less cost, and faster development. By making updates and changes simpler and also fast development in technology. Innovative technologies, including 2.5D and 3D interposers, multi-layer organic substrates, fast interconnect design, and power and thermal optimization, are the important components of TCS's product line. As these components get smaller, quicker, and more complex, these features help in offering systems with better performance, fewer delays, and increased energy efficiency.
According to TCS's President of Technology, Software, and Services, V. Rajanna, the introduced services will support customers in improving product development while placing them as the leader in the continually changing semiconductor industry. The process aligns with India's Semiconductor Goal, a government program supported by ₹76,000 crore that aims to establish India as a center for the design and production of chips. TCS is perfectly suited to support India's effort for self-reliance in the semiconductor industry, since Indian engineers make up around 20% of the world's chip design workforce.
In order to provide full support from design to manufacture, TCS also plans to partner with international chip fabs, software tool suppliers, and packaging specialists. Chiplet-based design is expected to power the next phase of digital systems because of rising demands for advanced computing and artificial intelligence.
