G42 Expands AI Footprint with New Subsidiary in Europe and the UK

UAE-based AI leader G42 launches G42 Europe and UK in London to deliver localized AI solutions and expand its global presence.

UAE-based AI expert G42 has opened a new subsidiary, G42 Europe and UK, with the mission of offering advanced AI solutions to European and British markets. The development is part of G42's overall strategy to enhance its global footprint, following a chain of major partnerships in AI infrastructure development.

The new unit, located in London, will be dedicated to areas like financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy. It aims to engage with private companies, governments, and industries to develop robust, AI-driven infrastructure on the continent. The subsidiary will be jointly chaired by World Wide Technology board member Omar Mir and Marty Edelman, Group General Counsel of G42.

Omar Mir underscored that G42 seeks to apply its established AI capabilities to European and UK companies, enabling digital transformation, enhancing competitiveness, and developing independent AI infrastructures that would be crucial for future innovation. "We are dedicated to localizing our AI solutions to enable businesses in Europe and the UK," Mir said.

This strategic expansion follows several key collaborations, such as an agreement with Mistral AI of France to develop advanced AI platforms and collaboration with Nvidia and MGX to build the biggest AI campus in Europe. As part of a larger €40 billion investment in Italy, G42 is also working with the Italian startup iGenius to build a major AI supercomputer.

G42's international strategy aligns with the UAE's growing interest in AI as a technology with the potential to transform economies and societies. The company's desire to operate with local regulatory infrastructures indicates it is interested in addressing the challenges of implementing AI in various markets.
