India's unique data advantage could drive its rise as a global tech powerhouse.
Claude Smadja, a former managing director of the World Economic Forum (WEF), believes that India is set to become a global leader in big data and technological innovation. India may become a major force in deep tech, artificial intelligence, and other data-intensive sectors thanks to its unparalleled ability to collect and use vast volumes of data, Smadja noted.
India's potential for data provides it with a unique edge, particularly in the era of access to enormous datasets, which is crucial for technological innovation. Smadja said the nation is at the moment at an "inflection point," and if it is to take advantage of this, it needs to accelerate its technological push. With its large population and expanding digital infrastructure, India stands well-positioned to spearhead the technological revolution globally.
Smadja highlighted that as other world leaders such as the United States are losing steam in terms of technology, and China has overcome its structural challenges, India's time has come. He emphasized that India's capacity to harness big data could bring the next significant breakthrough in global technological advancements.
Based on more than half a century of interaction with India, Smadja characterized the nation's progress as having been both positive and negative. Yet, he feels that the time for India to spur technology innovation and establish itself as a global center for technology development and entrepreneurship has come.
The window of opportunity to lead in big data is evident, and as India further augments its digital landscape, it may soon be at the helm of the world's technological revolution. This revolution toward data-driven innovation can redefine the future of businesses around the world, with India at the center of action.
