New platform combines AI security and governance, ensuring compliance and risk management.
IBM has launched a new AI software package that is intended to enable enterprises to manage and govern AI agents securely. The unified platform brings together IBM Guardium AI Security and WatsonX.governance to provide enterprises with a complete solution for deploying agentic and generative AI systems at a large scale.
The platform gives companies the capabilities required to manage AI agents' complete lifecycle, with security and compliance from the beginning. With increasing worries about the risks of AI, IBM works on helping companies find unauthorized AI agents, impose security controls, and keep track of data usage. The system enables compliance with 12 international frameworks, such as the EU AI Act and ISO/IEC 42001, allowing it to become simpler for businesses to comply with regulations.
IBM has collaborated with AllTrue.ai to advance the platform's capabilities, allowing it to identify AI use cases within decentralized setups such as cloud platforms, embedded systems, and source code repositories. On detecting AI agents, the platform prompts governance workflows automatically, allowing security teams to respond quickly, effectively, and in a timely manner.
On top of security capabilities, WatsonX.governance monitors AI performance, providing tools to measure relevance, and accuracy, and discover areas of underperformance. IBM further intends to introduce features such as agent audit trails and risk analysis by the end of June 2025.
To make regulatory compliance easier, the software features Compliance Accelerators, pre-loaded with worldwide regulatory content. These accelerators enable organizations to map their AI activities against the standards of organizations such as the U.S. Federal Reserve and NIST.
In addition, IBM provides advisory services via its Consulting Cybersecurity Services, assisting organizations in applying governance models and security policies. This service will guide organizations in identifying threats and protecting their AI systems.
With this single AI security and governance platform, IBM seeks to enable organizations to scale AI securely while having control and visibility.
