Ericsson Wins Multi-Year NOC Managed Services Deal with Airtel in India

Collaboration enhances Airtel’s network efficiency and opens new revenue streams with advanced technologies.

Ericsson, a leading telecom solutions provider globally, has secured a multi-year Network Operations Center (NOC) Managed Services (MS) deal with Bharti Airtel, a top telecom operator in India. This collaboration will enhance the network capabilities of Airtel in India, providing improved performance as well as more efficient service delivery.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will use its cutting-edge NOC technology to manage Airtel's pan-India network, with the potential to expand services like network slicing and fixed wireless access (FWA). Airtel will be able to improve customer experience and network efficiency thanks to the NOC's intent-based, centralized operations.

According to a new contract, Ericsson will manage data for Airtel's services on private networks, network slicing, FWA, 5G Standalone (SA), 5G Non-Standalone (NSA), and 4G.

With these technologies, Airtel looks to address the increasing data needs of Indian consumers and open new avenues for revenue.

Ericsson's Market Area Head for Southeast Asia, Oceania, and India, Andres Vicente, stated, "This historic agreement with Airtel demonstrates our dedication to helping them deliver the greatest customer experience. The intent-based NOC operations will allow Airtel to diversify services and produce new streams of revenue."

The partnership of Ericsson and Airtel has been for more than 25 years, across multiple generations of mobile telecommunication technology. This agreement follows the recent successful joint development of 5G Core solutions by the two companies, accelerating 5G evolution in India.

Airtel's Chief Technology Officer Randeep Sekhon said, "These innovative technologies will enable us to address the growing data demands of a digitally empowered India."
