Contrast Security recently announced Northstar, a new platform that combines threat analysis, live monitoring, and AI-powered services into a user-friendly interface. Replacing separate tools like AST and SIEM, Northstar enables collaboration across development, security, and operations teams.

Northstar’s central part, the Contrast Graph, serves as an immediate digital map of an organization's programs and APIs. It supports teams with up-to-date, accurate data by combining together threats, weaknesses, and assets in one context. By combining information from apps, APIs, attacks, and weaknesses, the Contrast Graph reduces risk, according to David Lindner, CISO of Contrast Security. This reduces the number of unnecessary alerts and allows teams to focus on true dangers.

Along with it, the platform has active risk scoring, which gives a score to weaknesses based on true threat behavior and activity. Additionally, it connects security testing with detection of incidents, helping teams in quickly identifying and fixing issues at their source.

Contrast's AI SmartFix offers automated and secure methods for developers in the regulated sectors. This intelligent AI develops secure code updates and testing using data from the Contrast Graph, then ensures that the fixes function correctly when they are deployed. According to Lindner, SmartFix meets with strict change control guidelines and fits into standard approval techniques, offering developers more confidence.

Northstar provides fast deployment with Flex Agent and Deployment Hub for both internal teams and MSSPs. It responds to present workflows through collaboration with applications like Splunk and Wiz. It offers AI-powered solutions and real-time threat data by combining security and activities, which speeds responses and reduces team duties.
