Google launches AI Max to boost search ad performance using advanced AI features and automation.
Google has rolled out AI Max, a powerful new set of AI-powered features intended to deliver better performance in current search campaigns. Launching worldwide in beta later this month, AI Max offers a one-click campaign-level option that allows advertisers to easily scale their reach, enhance ad relevance, and drive more conversions through the use of advanced AI technologies.
As per Google, advertisers who turn on AI Max generally see a 14% boost in conversions or conversion value at the same cost-per-acquisition (CPA) or return on ad spend (ROAS). For heavily exact and phrase match keyword-dependent campaigns, the boost can be even more striking, up to 27%.
Brian Burdick, Google's Senior Director of Search Ad Automation, highlighted the need to embrace AI-driven solutions to remain ahead of changing search behaviors. "You can supercharge your performance by reaching new queries you weren't tapping into before—all while enjoying the granular controls and reporting transparency you require," he added.
AI Max's feature set includes asset optimization, enabling advertisers to create dynamic headlines and descriptions based on landing pages, current ads, and keywords. Updated with enhanced AI functionality, the tool can now generate more discernible calls-to-action and emphasize unique selling points better. Final URL expansion further optimizes ad targeting by sending users to the most applicable pages on a brand's site.
Exclusive controls consist of interest targeting by location at the ad group level and brand safety tools at campaign and ad group levels, allowing advertisers to include or exclude certain brand associations.
Global brands like MyConnect and L'Oréal have already achieved considerable results. L'Oréal Chile saw its conversion rate boost 2X and cost-per-conversion dip 31%, demonstrating AI Max's ability to facilitate wiser, more effective ad campaigns.
Google remains at the forefront of integrating AI into marketing, with the goal of redefining the way advertisers reach their audiences.
