Limited to just 70 units, the bold two-door blends elegance, power, and practicality.
BMW has once again stunned the automotive world with the unveiling of the Concept Speedtop, an ultra-exclusive shooting brake that fuses grand tourer performance with distinctive station wagon styling. Revealed at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the Concept Speedtop follows last year’s Skytop roadster, sharing its platform but adding an artistic and practical twist.
Built on the bones of the high-performance BMW M8, the Speedtop sets itself apart with a fixed roof that flows seamlessly into a rear hatch, distinguishing it from the Skytop’s removable panels. The vehicle’s sleek silhouette is accentuated by a stunning gradient roof that transitions from Floating Sunstone Maroon to Floating Sundown Silver, paired with unique 14-spoke, two-tone alloy wheels.
Inside, the Speedtop continues BMW’s focus on luxury and innovation. Though a two-seater like its roadster sibling, its shooting brake configuration offers significantly more cargo space. BMW has utilized the added volume to install bespoke luggage shelves behind the seats, complete with leather straps and custom-crafted bags by Italian leathermaker Schedoni, including a premium duffel for the rear trunk.
Under the hood, BMW promises the brand’s most powerful V-8 engine, likely the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 found in the XM, delivering 617 horsepower. While performance specs haven’t been confirmed, the engine is expected to be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with available all-wheel drive, ensuring thrilling performance in any conditions.
Limited to just 70 production units, the Concept Speedtop will be slightly more available than the Skytop, of which only 50 were made. Pricing details remain undisclosed, but estimates suggest it will exceed $500,000, placing it firmly in the realm of collector-grade luxury vehicles.
With its dramatic styling, potent engine, and rare body configuration, the BMW Concept Speedtop redefines the modern luxury GT car with a fresh vision rooted in exclusivity and performance.
