The VFX-enhanced animated series features four friends exploring ASEAN through fun, heartwarming adventures.
On April 11, 2025, AirAsia Buds Adventures, a brand-new animated series produced by AirAsia brand co. (Abc.) in association with Moonbug Entertainment of the United Kingdom, will have its YouTube debut. This comes after Moonbug and ABC announced their partnership during Malaysia's Kre8tif! digital content event in October 2024.
Series synopsis: The show follows a colorful group of characters, including Tappy the daring tapir, Bam the mindful pygmy elephant, Ogu the avant-garde orangutan, and Biggie the mischievous one, as they go on fun adventures throughout ASEAN and beyond. The show, which consists of 12 episodes every week, aims to captivate young viewers with tales of friendship, cooperation, and discovery.
Abc. CEO Rudy Khaw underlined that YouTube has become the leading platform for family entertainment, making it an ideal space to launch AirAsia Buds Adventures to a global audience. He described the series as a celebration of travel, adventure, and friendship as core values that reflect AirAsia’s identity. Khaw stated eagerness in inviting children and their families to join the characters on a unique and attractive journey.
Echoing this sentiment, Simon Barnett, Moonbug’s Asia Pacific director of ad sales and brand partnerships, noted the company's success on YouTube with stories centered on family love and connection. He stated interest in working with AirAsia to introduce viewers to Biggie, Ogu, Bam, and Tappy through lovable, eye-catching escapades.
ABC is launching marketing campaigns to advertise the program. These consist of mascot freebies and appearances at public gatherings and neighborhood schools, influencer partnerships with producers of family and parenting content, and digital and social media initiatives on AirAsia's official YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok accounts.
