Qatar to Build First Trump-Branded Resort with Golf Course

Qatar Dar Global to develop $5.5B Trump resort with golf villas and theme park.

The two real estate developers Qatari Diar and Dar Global will sign an agreement on Wednesday to construct Qatar's first Trump-branded real estate building. It is also stated that the Simaisma coastal development which is located 40 minutes north of the capital Doha in Qatar will include the Trump International Golf Course and Trump Villas.

With an 18-hole golf course and a Land of Legends theme park as its focal points in the $5.5 billion Simaisma complex organized by Qatari Diar is planned as a 7 km-long mega entertainment resort area. The agreement on Wednesday coincides with Eric Trump, a Trump Organization executive and the son of US President Donald Trump by visiting the Gulf. Eric Trump told Reuters on Tuesday that everyone in the Gulf region wants peace so local economies may flourish and that the region depends on a strong United States.

The Trump Organization has already launched a number of projects in partnership with Dar Global, the global division of Saudi Arabia's Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company. These include real estate developments in Oman and also plans for a Trump Tower in Dubai that were revealed on Tuesday and two more in Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. However, the first Trump-branded project in gas-rich Qatar will consist of the Trump golf course and residences.

Requests for validation and comment from Reuters were not immediately answered by representatives of the Trump Organization or Dar Global. President Trump is scheduled to make his first significant international trip in the coming weeks, which will also include stops in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates which is a huge win for Doha. Trump has indicated that he would sign significant investment deals in each of the three nations.
