New partnership transforms telecom towers into intelligent AI-powered nodes for smart cities.
Blaize Holdings and BroadSat Technologies have announced a partnership aimed at advancing AI-powered edge computing for telecom and broadcast infrastructure. The collaboration introduces AICON Edge, a platform that integrates Blaize's Graph Streaming Processor (GSP) into BroadSat’s global network, marking a significant leap in smart infrastructure and edge computing capabilities.
The AICON Edge platform transforms traditional telecom and broadcast towers into intelligent compute nodes, enabling real-time AI processing and optimized video delivery right at the network's edge. This innovative solution supports a range of infrastructures, including 5G, RF, Broadcast Internet, and IP-based systems, thus enhancing Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and supporting Over-the-Top (OTT) and Over-the-Air (OTA) content distribution.
Key features of AICON Edge include edge inference and AI processing via Blaize's GSP, real-time video delivery and content optimization, multi-layer connectivity support, and enhanced edge caching and compute capabilities. The platform is designed to support a variety of high-value applications across sectors such as Smart Cities, Public Safety, Precision Agriculture, Telemedicine, and Emergency Response.
By leveraging BroadSat's extensive global infrastructure, Blaize gains access to a wide-reaching network, enabling the deployment of AI-driven services without requiring significant new physical installations. This strategic integration allows telecom and broadcast operators to reduce backhaul requirements, minimize latency, and process data closer to end-users, ensuring faster, more reliable service delivery.
This partnership is composed to unlock new revenue streams in edge computing and AI processing, particularly in markets that require real-time video analytics and localized data processing. As edge computing continues to evolve, AICON Edge sets the stage for smarter, more responsive infrastructure that addresses both operational challenges and emerging technology needs.
