Shibashish Roy Appointed CEO & MD of Croma

Croma appoints Shibashish Roy as CEO & MD, focusing on digital innovation and expansion.

Tata Group retail chain Croma has appointed Shibashish Roy as its new Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), from April 1. Roy replaces outgoing MD Avijit Mitra, who completed his term in March 2025 after a transition phase, during which Roy gradually transitioned into the role from November 2024.

With more than 20 years of experience in different Tata Group companies, Roy has played a key role in increasing Croma's market reach. His leadership has been instrumental in improving customer service and streamlining the company's sales strategy through multiple channels.

Infiniti Retail Ltd's Chairman Naveen Tahilyani also felt optimistic about Roy's capacity to take the company to newer heights, crediting his digital-first strategy and his zeal for engaging with customers. "Shibashish has been preparing himself to take up the CEO & MD role during the last five months as per the succession announcement made towards the end of last year. I am confident his vision will lead Croma to further success," Tahilyani said.

Croma, owned by Infiniti Retail Ltd, is a leading Indian consumer durables and electronics chain. Roy's top priorities for fiscal year 2026 as the new CEO are to drive market share in priority markets and improve profitability, setting Croma up for long-term growth in the competitive retail space.

The appointment of Roy is a big step in the leadership changeover at Croma, with emphasis on leading digital transformation and further building its customer engagement strategy.
