Nuvolari-Lenard reveals unique features of the 47-meter Serenissima 1 luxury yacht.
Carlo Nuvolari, co-founder of the renowned Venetian design studio Nuvolari-Lenard, has shared the design secrets behind the stunning Serenissima 1, a 47-meter luxury yacht that made its world debut at the 2024 Monaco Boat Show. Designed for an experienced owner seeking the luxury of a larger yacht in a more compact package, Serenissima 1 combines versatility, privacy, and innovative features that elevate it to a whole new level of superyacht design.
One of the yacht’s most unique features is the private lounge on the upper deck, designed with glass veranda panels that allow the owner to enjoy the space year-round. This "greenhouse" style area offers both comfort and privacy, making it a standout feature on a yacht of this size, typically not found on sub-500GT vessels.
Nuvolari emphasized the importance of tailoring each yacht design to the owner’s lifestyle. For Serenissima 1, the owner desired complete privacy, so the owner’s suite is situated on the upper deck, away from noisy areas such as the anchor. Below, the yacht features a “relaxed room” – a private, quiet space for the owner and guests to unwind complete with a wine cellar and cigar room. These design choices set Serenissima 1 apart from typical yachts in the same size class.
The collaboration between Nuvolari-Lenard and Mengi Yay, the Turkish shipyard behind the yacht's construction, highlights a commitment to delivering personalized luxury in an efficient, elegant design. While focusing on timeless elements like expansive deck spaces and luxurious interiors, Serenissima 1 also aligns with modern trends that emphasize outdoor living and sheltered spaces, offering a perfect balance of relaxation and sophistication.
As for the future of yachting, Nuvolari believes the focus will continue to be on integrating more outdoor living features; ensuring yachts remain connected to the sea while offering shelter from the elements.
