Bioworld Merchandising acquires Character World Brands, enhancing presence in Europe and expanding homeware offerings.
In a move that will generate significant growth opportunities, an American business has acquired a Stockport company that works with brands including Lego and Peppa Pig. A Dallas-based company called Bioworld Merchandising which plans to expand in Europe has purchased the licensed homeware products company Character World Brands.
Character World, situated in Cheadle Hulme work in partnership with top Premier League teams including Manchester City and Manchester United, in addition to PlayStation, the NFL, and Minecraft. James Walker, CEO of Character World Brands has mentioned that joining Bioworld's robust ecosystem would accelerate their growth while enabling them to utilize its scale and support to reach a wider consumer base with their complete home solutions. The team expressed excitement about strengthening home textiles and growing new hardlines segments launched in 2025.

The team from Grant Thornton, which was managed by corporate finance professionals Pete Terry and Matthew Bryden-Smith and supported by Cariad Lightfoot, Ammen Arya, and Tilly Das-Gupta, provided advice to the shareholders of the UK Company.
Mr. Bryden Smith stated that Character World Brands has a strong tradition in the licensed brands market and established partnerships with renowned companies making it a perfect strategic acquisition for Bioworld Merchandising, which aims to expand its growth in the UK and Europe.
